Paradise Duck Hunt

Bernard with a our big clean up tomorrow.
Bring on the meat
After doing my ankle the Thursday before, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to go for this hunt but after the all clear from the physio there I was sitting in the trees with my borrowed Lamber under and over. The weather was great for duck shooting, overcast with occasional showers and by the time we were set up we already had 11 parries in the bag.

The place we were set up was great, trees bent over like an old man with a walking stick that was to short for him. Shooting at our chosen location was great, the trees provided shelters and the ducks would circle, then come flying down the tree line and into the decoys and into the waiting guns of Trevor, Bernard, Grant (Dad), myself  and 4 locals that I can't remember there names.

Over all it was a good afternoon and we shot eighty Paradise Ducks.  Smiles all around with lots of hunting stories to be told in the ute on the way home.

Once home, we stacked our paradise loot in the chiller along with 2 deer I shot the previous weekend.  Waiting for the big clean up tomorrow.

Living The Hunters Dream at only 12.

  1. Awesome writing Craig. I really liked the simile of the tree like an old man bent over his short walking stick. I can't wait to get the duck and venison salami. YUMMY!!!!!
